Mining:
1. Most ores that aren't useful now will be useful later. MINE EVERYTHING!
2. Onyx looks extremely similar to coal; it is just a tiny bit darker. Be aware when ignoring coal!
3. Ores that have a cobblestone background are Master Tier. They can only be mined by an Enderite Pickaxe, which you can only get by going to the End.
4. Have F3 open. When you look at a block, on the right hand side of your screen, it will show what block it is. You can use the Ore tab to find out what type of Pickaxe you require to mine it.
Farming:
1. Have F3 open. When you look at a crop, on the right hand side of your screen, it will show what stage the crop is at. Every crop in this mod goes from stage 0 to stage 4. It can only be harvested at stage 4.
